Second Lawsuit to be Launched to Enforce PDK Weight Limit--
FAA Compliance Sought
Open DeKalb Inc. and other concerned citizens have
repeatedly called PDK Airport weight limit violations to the
attention of DeKalb County and the FAA, but officials have
refused to comply with their own contractually-binding weight/size
limit agreement. Concerned
citizens are preparing to launch a second lawsuit to secure
court-ordered mandatory enforcement of the County's weight/size limit. Your
financial support is essential to keep ever larger and more
disruptive jets from using PDK Airport. Read more
PDK Weight Limit
DeKalb County agreed in 1987 to limit the size of aircraft
to small planes with certified maximum takeoff weights of 66,000
pounds or less, in order to obtain FAA approval and funding
for a 1,000 foot runway extension at PDK Airport without conducting
a federally-mandated Environmental Impact Study. DeKalb County
committed itself to the FAA not to bring larger aircraft in
to PDK Airport in the future (the 1,000 foot extension was
only for "safety" of existing aircraft). For PDK
